Crossing Void Global Character Guide

Introduction

Yoyoyo it’s Eiyuu from Eden of Gaming. This time with a tierlist for

Dengeki Bunko: Crossing Void. Below you will find my explanations for the tierlist setup, an analysis of each character and recommendations for character pairings.

Update: Added Mashiro and Taiga. I personally haven’t tested Taiga but I did ask our members about their opinion.

PSA: Feel free to discuss the tierlist with me on Discord Eiyuu#8888

Tierlist

I have not differentiated between AoE,ST and Support on the tierlist mainly because I will analyse each character later on. My main criteria for tiering is Speed, Skills, Stat-Growth. In my opinion, speed plays the most important role in these type of games simply because the order of movement makes or breaks a fight whether it be PvP or PvE. The tierlist can be somewhat used for PvP but do note that in PvP, single target focus characters have more uses than AoE. It does lean towards PvP focus though, because I put heavy emphasis on the Speed stat. Do note though that currently Mirage is all about DPS and Speed and less about Utility/CC.

  • S Tier
Top of their role with a coherent skill set and good stats
  • A Tier
Just minor stat differences but still useful as decent substitutes for S Tier
  • B Tier
Mostly none meta skill sets. Very niche usage or replaceable by better Units.

Character Analysis

Alice (Sword Art Online)

Role:  ST DPS, AoE DPS, Tank
Speed:  520
ATK-Growth:  C
DEF-Growth:  A

Her mediocre ATK stats are pushed into ridiculous levels by her Attack-Stance and Attack Boost from her cross skill with Kirito. If paired with Kirito she would be in heir own Tier for the current character roster and fits in absolutely any team composition. She covers all bases with having strong single target damage, strong AoE and can tank if needed.

S Tier (Main)

Misaka Mikoto aka BiriBiri (To Aru Majutsu no Index)

Role:  AoE DPS
Speed:  550
ATK-Growth:  S
DEF-Growth:  B

Strongest AoE in terms of pure DPS in the game currently. Bleed on S2 is just icing on the cake. Her only downside is that she herself lacks any kind of utility but it can be easily fixed with a good Support. If combined with Kuroko support she also gets a strong ST Seal Skill along with a cross skill whose damage scaling is on par with other units’ Climax Skills.

Shiba Miyuki (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousai)

Role:  AoE DPS/Support Hybrid
Speed:  400
ATK-Growth:  S
DEF-Growth:  B

While her skills aren’t as strong as other AoE DPS on the list. She excels at utility. Having both “Dispell” and “Increase Damage on Opponents” in her skill kit makes her a valuable Main Unit. The only downside is her somewhat slow speed. If paired with Zero, you can abuse both of their S-Tier ATK-Growth for insane single target damage.

Shana (Shakugan no Shana)

Role:  AoE DPS
Speed:  700
ATK-Growth:  S
DEF-Growth:  B

Another strong AoE DPS Unit. Her gimmick is using bleed to increase her total damage output. Bleeds can stack as long it is afflicted by different skills. Her downside is that bleeds can be cleansed and therefore decreasing her total damage output. If paired with Wilhelmina she gains another 4 SP AoE Skill with better multipliers, which is very useful against teams with cleanses. She also gets a strong ST Seal Skill

Kuroyukihime (Accel World)

Role:  ST DPS
Speed:  775
ATK-Growth:  S
DEF-Growth:  B

Currently the only ST Unit in S Tier. Since DPS Units heavily rely on good stats for maximum damage output, it is very important to have a high ATK-Growth. Along with being the 2nd fastest Main Unit ingame and an enemy defense down in her skill kit, it is possible to set up some incredible combos to instantly finish off the opponent. Her only demerit is the lack of a decent cross skill support but you can just use a Support with a good skill and S-Tier ATK-Growth for even higher dmg output.

A-Tier (Main)

Asuna (Sword Art Online)
Asuna (Sword Art Online)

Role:  ST DPS
Speed:  751
ATK-Growth:  A
DEF-Growth:  A

Strong front ST Unit. Similar skill set to Kuroyukihime, as she can keep her ATK Buff constantly and therefore negating her slightly lower stats. She is still the best front ST Unit currently available.

Kirito (Sword Art Online)
Kirito (Sword Art Online)

Role:  ST Bruiser/Utility
Speed:  800
ATK-Growth:  A
DEF-Growth:  A

Healing reduction currently isn’t in meta. Being the fastest Main character currently available, his niche would casting debuffs on the opponent or buffing your own team. To do so he is reliant on a fast support with those skills. His S1 gives him extra tankiness at 0 cost so those SP can be used on your more important mid/rear line.

Kousaka Kirino (OreImo)
Kousaka Kirino (OreImo)

Role:  AoE DPS/Support
Speed:  607
ATK-Growth:  B
DEF-Growth:  B

DPS and Support hybrid. By herself she isn’t that good but paired with Kuroneko her usefulness increases by a lot. Having access to two different types of Heals gives you more options. Also being on the faster side of the Supporter spectrum, her specialty is in removing enemy buffs before your DPS moves or cleanse Bleeds before your team takes additional damage.

Qwenthur (Heavy Object)
Qwenthur (Heavy Object)

Role:  AoE DPS
Speed:  350
ATK-Growth:  A
DEF-Growth:  A

Nothing much to say besides him being a very good pure AoE DPS without utility. His S2 having extremely good multipliers along with it costing only 3 SP makes him a good alternative to Mikoto. Also with his cross skills being rather mediocre, you can stick any S-Tier ATK-Growth Support on him to further increase his damage. His only downside is him being rather slow which in the current meta is not favorable.

Orihara Izaya (Durarara!!!)
Orihara Izaya (Durarara!!!)

Role:  ST DPS
Speed:  351
ATK-Growth:  S
DEF-Growth:  B

Midlane ST DPS but with an AoE Debuff S1 skill. His ATK-Growth makes him strong and his AoE gives him more options but he lacks speed to assassinate a Unit quickly. Could be paired up with Celty to gain a strong cross skill with a high multiplier.

Akatsuki Kojyo (Strike The Blood)

Role:  AOE DPS/Support
Speed:  675
ATK-Growth:  A
DEF-Growth:  A

He is the jack of all trades type of character. His S2 skill basically covers the whole support spectrum with cleanses, heals and dispells but at a pretty high cost of 6 SP. He lacks a 0 SP S1 skill which in his case is a 3 SP AOE skill with decent multipliers. By pairing him with Yukina who is a top tier support character with the highest ATK-Growth in the game, his AOE dmg will be huge, especially when using the cross skill.

Ako (NetoYome)

Role:  Support
Speed:  250
ATK-Growth:  B
DEF-Growth:  S

She has very good DEF-Growth and her S1 targets the frontline. Putting her on the front and have her act as a semi tank while sustaining herself and your team is the best course of action. Her slow speed can be beneficial or detrimental depending on your team composition. Pairing her with a fast team is in my opinion the way to go.

Character Pairings

Mikoto

This pairing has less overall ATK but you gain access to a ST rear, sealing skill with good modifiers. Also you have an extremely strong AOE cross skill which has multipliers with other units’ climax skill.

These are basically stat sticks with high overall ATK-Growth. Each of them have different tiers of speeds so choose whoever you want for speed tuning. Besides Zeros midlane sealing skill the rest are negligible.

Miyuki

This is her best cross hands down. She gets the ST midlane sealing skill from Zero and another strong AOE DPS skill besides her AOE dispell. Zero also has high overall ATK-Growth which fits perfectly to Miyukis DPS role.

DPS Stat sticks with different speeds. Kuroyukihime cross skill is an alternative to Zeros’ but her support skill is not as good.

Shana

Similar to Mikoto, this pairing also gives Shana access to a ST seal skill and AOE cross skill. The cross skill has more burst while her own bleed AOE skill has more long term damage. It is good to alternate them for maximum damage output.

DPS Stat sticks with different speeds.

Kuroyukihime

This pairing gives her access to 2 AOE skills. Kiritos own skill is rather for utility purposes as it decreases the enemy damage dealt and has low damage modifiers. The cross skill on the other hand is a high damaging AOE climax skill. This makes Kuroyukihime have 2 of them. While it isn’t as useful in PvP it definitely is a good PvE pairing.
