So what did we learn today?

Purple vs Yellow: A set of yellow accessories on average costs 3255 black pearls ($79) more than a clean set of purple accessories. When both sets of accessories are at +10, yellow has a 82 cp advantage over purple. But a clean set of yellow accessories already gives 73 more cp than a clean set of purple accessories! You need to enhance a set of purple to +6 before it is better than a clean set of yellow.
Yellow vs Orange: A set of orange accessories on average costs 44150 black pearls ($1074) more than a set of yellow. When both sets of accessories are at +10, orange has a 140 cp advantage over purple. But a +2 set of yellow accessories already gives you the same cp as a clean set of orange accessories.

CONCLUSION:

Yellow accessories are the way to go. A +6 purple set will cost around the same amount of pearls as a clean yellow set but the yellow set has more potential for upgrades and will be relevant for much longer.
Orange is extremely high cost but low reward.

Worth noting that it is very difficult to collect enough gold & orange accessories for the +10 enhancement process. Especially orange accessories as there are fewer than 30 total trades of orange accessories in the soft launch market after an entire month.
